Former Ghana and Africa champions Asante Kotoko will challenge local side DC United in the Capital City cup match on Saturday contrary to a club statement pulling out of the game.
A makeshift Asante Kotoko side that landed in the US Capitol on Wednesday have began engaging organizers in the weeklong activities marking “Ghana Week” celebration.
with 7 players, Asante Kotoko will engage some Ghanaian players based in the US to augment their squad to face DC United.
The team has already held 2 training sessions, and also engaged in a youth empowerment clinic with Soccer players from the Howard University in Washington DC.
The combined team of Asante Kotoko players and the select side will have their final training at the RFK stadium on Friday before naming a final squad for the all important game to be played at the Audi field.
