AFCON Qualifier – Mass Protest hit Black Stars as Several Players snub Otto Addo call up

Several Black Star Players have declined call up to participate in the final qualifiers of the AFCON tournament.

Eight of the players who were invited by Coach Otto Addo have told the coach they will not be available for the team in the current international break.

The black Stars have a double header encounter against Angola and Niger in match day 5 and 6 of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Morocco.

Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jonas Adjetey, Tariq Lamptey, Jerome Opoku, Alexander Djiku, Ibrahim Osman, and Joseph Painstil have all withdrawn from this month’s qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The Players cited several reasons for their inability to honor the games.

Coach Otto Addo has subsequently invited Osman Bukari, Forson Amankwah, Ransford Yeboah, Terry Yegbe, Ebenezer Annan, and Kingsley Schindler to join the team for the crucial encounter.
