Match Report- Ghana 2-2 Uganda, Cranes block Black Stars path to first win after AFCON Disaster

The Cranes of Uganda played a spirted game in marrakech to draw 2-2 with the Black Stars of Ghana, with Coach Otto Addo failing to secure win in his return to the stars job

Having began well with an early minute Jerome Opoku header from Jordan Ayew’s corner kick, the Black Stars allowed their Ugandan counterparts to come into the game with Asante Kotoko Striker Steven Mukwala leading the East Africans.

With just 23 minutes gone, the Asante Kotoko target man stepped forward to slot in from the penalty spot after Ebenezer Annan had brought an opponent down in the box

The Black Stars quickly regrouped and organized themselves to push the Ugandans, who committed several errors in their own half leading to the centre referee awarding Ghana a penalty which was easily scored by Jordan Ayew in the 28th minute.

Having taken the lead, the Black stars held onto the game, pushing their opponents deep into their own area, while making some inroads into getting more goals, but a more determined Cranes held onto the game.

Back from the break, Coach Otto Addo introduced some new faces into the game including Captain Andre Ayew, Ibrahim Osman, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, Forson Amankwaa, and Alidu Seidu.

The Substitutions seemed to have been great for the Black Stars as the new side pinned the Cranes to their half for well over 20 minutes until the 81st minute when the Ugandans took advantage of a free kick in the Ghanaian half to push to get the equalizer.

In what seem a scramble for the ball following a crossing  from the left wing that met the head of Muhammad Shaban, with goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott failing to deal with it, but the Referee was quick to point to the centre with the Black Stars in shock.,
